Both halves of that sentence are independently excellent, and together they make for a genuinely great solo week: eat your way through the old town all evening, then walk down to the bay for a free sky-sized spectacle every single night.

Pintxos culture is, structurally, built for solo travelers. You stand at a bar, point at what looks good, eat it in two bites, order another, and move to the next bar — no table, no reservation, no group consensus required about where to eat. La Concha's fireworks each night draw the whole city down to the promenade, locals and travelers shoulder to shoulder on the sand or the seawall, and a solo spot on that wall with a good view costs nothing but arriving a bit early.
