Four dollars gets you through the door of one of the best tasting events on this entire board — 400-plus small producers pouring mezcal from village stills across Oaxaca state, long communal tables, and an entry fee so low it barely registers against the flights it took to get here. This isn't a polished trade fair; it's twelve days of village-level agave culture set up under a fairground roof, and the people pouring your next taste made the stuff themselves and want to tell you about it.

Solo travelers thrive on the format alone — you move table to table at your own pace, and every producer treats a conversation about their agave as the whole point of the transaction. Nobody's rushing you along to keep a group moving, and asking a stranger "what's good at this table" is basically the entire social contract of the fair. It overlaps directly with Guelaguetza and the Feria del Mole, so a well-timed Oaxaca trip in late July can stack three distinct, cheap, deeply solo-friendly events into one week.
